The research is based on a thorough evaluation of existing policies to promote renewable energy in Europe, Asia and the United States.

This study looks at ways to instrumentalise market mechanisms in order to create large scale global markets for the procurement of the necessary technology.
The research is carried out by the Prometheus Institute for Sustainable Development, in cooperation with 3 other small research institutes in the United States.
